Welcome to iRacing at Kenaz Sim Sports
iRacing is the most realistic sim racing platform available—used by pros and amateurs alike.
If you’re new to sim racing or motorsport, here’s how to hit the ground running.
What You’ll Drive First
We recommend starting with beginner-friendly cars that are fun, predictable, and race-proven:
- Mazda MX-5 Cup – Lightweight, great balance, and perfect for learning the ropes.
- Formula Vee – Open-wheel basics with forgiving handling.
- GR86 or Skip Barber – Slightly faster and great for transitioning to advanced cars.
These cars teach the fundamentals: smooth inputs, weight transfer, and momentum driving.
First Things to Focus On
Avoid Overdriving – Brake earlier, turn less, and accelerate later until you find your rhythm.
Consistency First – Laps don’t have to be fast, just repeatable.
Use All the Track – Learn how to maximize corner exits and apexes.

Sim Racing Driving Tips
Getting Started: Driving Tips for Sim Racing Success
Braking: Slow In, Fast Out
- Brake in a straight line before turning.
- Apply strong initial pressure, then release smoothly.
- Sudden braking can unbalance the car—stay consistent.
Trail Braking: Brake into the Turn
- Ease off the brake as you begin turning.
- This helps weight transfer to the front tires, improving grip.
- Blend braking and steering with control.
Throttle Management: Be Smooth
- Apply throttle gradually on corner exit.
- Sudden inputs can cause wheelspin or push the car wide.
- Smooth throttle = more grip and control.
Steering Inputs: Smooth is Fast
- Use gentle, deliberate movements.
- Avoid over-correcting or excessive steering angles.
- Let the car rotate naturally through the corner.
Vision: Look Where You Want to Go
- Keep your eyes up and scan ahead.
- Focus on your exit—not just the corner itself.
- The car follows your line of sight.
Traction Circle: Balance Your Inputs
- Tires have limited grip—don’t max out braking, turning, or throttle all at once.
- Combine inputs smoothly to stay within the traction circle.
- If you’re sliding, reduce one or more inputs to regain grip.
- This will be detailed in your initial coaching session.
Beginner Rule:
Brake. Turn. Accelerate.
Master this sequence first—blending comes later with experience.
